For the german readers:

The creators of bitsundso , filmeundso and gamesundso started a new podcast dealing with US TV Series!

Go download serienundso , the first episode deals with the US TV Series damages

I personally always liked their podcasts. I am currently only listening to bitsundso because filmeundso hasn't been updated since january and gamesundso is dealing with games… and I don't play that many games anymore.

Bitsundso deals with Macs, the internet and everything else. I especially like the technical expertise with which topics are discussed in bitsundso and the professional sound quality, let's see if serienundo can live up to that standard.

If you happen to have a 99,99% torrent download stuck in Transmission and you'd love to have a "recheck hash"; option, simply do this:

  1. pause the torrent download
  2. go to the terminal and "touch"; the file/directory (as in "touch mydownload.rar";)
  3. resume the download
  4. voilá, there's your hashcheck

I know what you think: "Wow, Marc sure is one lean mean blog-switching machine!";.
And you're right :D Mephisto was a pretty decent blogging engine, but ever since 12-18 months ago, the development is a bit slagging. XML-RPC doesn't work in the current stable, inserting Images from the "Bucket"; doesn't work, the wiki is down and nobody seems to care/do anything, …
I also don't use disqus anymore. Disqus is pretty nice, but I want "email me when new stuff shows up"; + openID

To convert the posts and comments from Mephisto, I used the python script that can be found over here

Mobile News Network ("Local News"; part not working for Germany, but a decent news app)

Remote (Remote Control iTunes from your iPhone!)

Twitterrific (Twitter Client… kinda liked twinkle better though)

VoiceNotes (liked the "original"; VoiceVotes by Erika Sadun better)

and some others is only available in the US Store… luckily I do have an US Store Account :D. AOL Radio works, Ebay crashes, paypal has a "System Error";, google mobile is utter crap (it basically just opens safari). The crashes could be my beta8 FW though

Ok, I have to admint, the "bitches"; part was unnecessary… but I think it makes the title sound 2000 times cooler.

What is shazam you ask? It's an iPhone application that records 10 seconds of music playing and tells you which song it is.







  3. Btw, you can make a screenshot on your iphone by keeping your menu button pressed and then taping the "locking"; button. Your screen will blink and you will find the screenshot in your "Camera Roll";

The preview copy of iTunes which was needed to flash the 2.0 beta firmware seems to know something about the release of the real deal :P
